Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling

I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.
I haven't finished writing SPIKE yet.
And I honestly don't know when it will be finished - which oddly enough brings us to the good news:
I've made a new, major decision in the SPIKE story that I think a lot of you will be happy to hear. As usual I don't want to spoil too much, but there is a part in the story where Spike and Sam are separated from each other for quite a long while. At first I was planning on only writing from Spike's point of view, like, what he's experiencing during this separation period. I figured that since he's the main cha

31 Years In The Life

As of today (January 8th, 2012) I have made it one year into my "Dirty Thirties"

I'm not a young person anymore. Youthful? Perhaps. Immature? Definitely!! Changes? CONSTANTLY. Lots has happened in my 31 years in existence. In thinking back from where I started, it's hard to believe that everything has taken so long to happen. Yet it's happened all too so fast as well.

I've learned from my mom and dad how to function on the most basic level, and how to deal with the most horrid of situations. Seen myself aspire to BE my brother, and am now witnessing him doing the same back to me now.

I've made the most beautiful of friendships, and the bitterest of enemies. I believe I needed both.

I've witnessed the entire lifespan my of my inspirational neighbor from his arrival home after his birth, to his final moments on the day of his murder. I've seen my closest life-long friend become a total stranger to me. Memories of an amazing former friendship is all that remains of us. I've experienced the death of my grandparents and the devastation it left on my own parents. From that, I learned that my parents were not invincible. I see close ones from my early days falling in love, getting married, and some even divorced already! I'm witnessing my best friend progressing from a high school outcast, to a popular kid, to a struggling college man, to successful career man, to a FAMILY MAN. And I've been there to be able to see it all happen.

The bad times. The good times. The scary times. The awkward times. The mad times. Winning. Losing. Everything coming together to form this crazy-ass experience called "LIFE." I've been through hell and high water with this cast of equally twacked out people in my time here. If I could, would I go through it all over again if I had the opportunity?

FUCK YEAH.
